GANADOR 2017 - DR H. JAMES HARRINGTON


MENSAJE DE ACEPTACIÓN DEL DR H. JAMES HARRINGTON AL RECIBIR EL PREMIO AGAPITO GONZALEZ PARA LA PROMOCIÓN DE LA CALIDAD 2017.

Durante los últimos 40 años he tenido la suerte de conocer y trabajar con los líderes de las actividades de promoción de la calidad en México y con IMECCA. Ha sido un privilegio trabajar con dos personas que se han dedicado tanto al ideal como Vilma Luz García González y José Francisco González Prado. Basándome en la amistad y el apoyo muy cercanos que he recibido, es un gran honor recibir el Premio Agapito González 2017. Espero que la cooperación y la amistad entre las personas y nuestros países continúen creciendo y convirtiéndose en una relación de cooperación aún más sólida.

Que Dios esté con y cuide de mis buenos amigos y de IMECCA durante el 2018 y más allá, convirtiéndolo en un año saludable y rico.

JUSTIFICACIÓN PARA OTORGAR EL PREMIO

  1. Ser cofundador junto con el Ing. Agapito González de la Organización de Calidad de Asia Pacífico, APQO y la Fundación Walter Hurd, WHF y por facilitar la participación de IMECCA en la dirección de la Organización de Calidad de Asia Pacífico.
  2. Ser un líder importante para el establecimiento del Premio Internacional de Calidad de Asia Pacífico.
  3. Su cooperación con las actividades de IMECCA participando como ponente en los Congresos Nacionales de Control de Calidad en Puebla 1986, Guadalajara 1997, Ciudad de México 2003, Villahermosa 2016 y Cuernavaca 2017.
  4. Su brillante participación en asociaciones profesionales siendo presidente de ASQ y la IAQ (Academia Internacional de la Calidad), entre otros.
  5. Su larga y destacada carrera en el campo de la calidad al tener puestos clave en empresas de clase mundial como IBM Co., donde trabajó durante 40 años y realizó un trabajo notable como director corporativo de calidad y en Ernst and Young, donde se destacó como asesor de calidad internacional y posteriormente, creó su propia empresa de consultoría.
  6. Ser autor de más de 50 libros, la mayoría de ellos “best seller”, entre ellos Total Business Improvement.
  7. Cabe mencionar que usted es el primer extranjero en recibir tal premio porque sus méritos han influido muy positivamente en la mejora de la calidad en México.

DR. H. JAMES HARRINGTON ACCEPTANCE SPEECH OF THE AGAPITO GONZALEZ FOR THE PROMOTION OF QUALITY AWARD 2017

For the last 40 years I have been fortunate enough to know and work with the leaders of the quality promotion activities in Mexico and with IMECCA. It is been a privilege to work with two individuals that have been so dedicated to ideal as Vilma Luz Garcia Gonzalez and Jose Francisco Gonzalez Prado. Based upon the very close friendship and support that I have received makes it a great honor to been given the 2017 Agapito Gonzalez Award. I hope that the cooperation and friendship between the individuals and our countries will continue to grow and develop into an even strong cooperative relationship.

May God be with and watch over my good friends and IMECCA throughout 2018 and beyond making it a healthy and wealthy year.

I will give a friendly smile and a happy hello to my friends in Mexico.

JUSTIFICATION FOR GIVING THE AWARD

  1. Being co-founder together with Mr. Agapito Gonzalez of the Asia Pacific Quality Organization, APQO and the Walter Hurd Foundation, WHF and facilitate IMECCA’s participation in the direction of the Asia Pacific Quality Organization.
  2. Being an important leader for the establishment of the International Asia Pacific Quality Award.
  3. Your cooperation with IMECCA’s activities participating as speaker in the National Quality Control Congresses at Puebla 1986, Guadalajara 1997, Mexico City 2003, Villahermosa 2016 and Cuernavaca 2017,
  4. Your brilliant participation in professional associations being president of ASQ and IAQ, among others.
  5. Your long and outstanding career in the quality field having key positions in world class companies such as IBM Co. where you worked during 40 years and made a remarkable job as quality corporate director and at Ernst and Young where you excelled as international quality advisor and later created your own consulting company.
  6. Being the author of over 50 books, most of them “best seller”, among them Total Business Improvement.
It I worth to mention that you are the first foreigner to receive such an award because your merits influenced very positively the quality improvement in Mexico.
